With tears filling my eyes, we arrived at HongKong Airport and started our trip to Australia which would be the first time I go abroad. The sun was shining in the sky and the bird’s sand beautifully. It seemed that everything is great.
To tell the truth, I am very frightened of taking airplane, especially when I heard of the accident of the MH370. As I set my foot on the board, I almost turned back and ran away. Finally, I got into the airplane and sat down with fear. To keep calm, I forced myself to fall asleep but I woke up very soon and I found that the plane had not taken off yet! Oh my god! If I didn’t fall asleep, I would feel very uncomfortable when the plane was taking off. At that moment, I really want to cry!
Gradually, I forgot to fear and looked forward to the dinner on the plane. The food was more delicious than the one on domestic flight. There was a small TV in front of the seat, I could choose to see a film, listen to music or play games on it. I didn’t sleep the whole night but watch TV only.
The lack of sleeping caused headache, but it still could not stop me from getting excited. We arrived at the St. John’s Anglican College at 7. Ms Shelly the head teacher received us and introduced Tim, the alumnus of #2 High School. He said a lot about being an international student.
After having some fresh fruits as morning tea, our teacher Amy brought us to the classroom. Her words were simple and understandable. I enjoyed it very much. In the mean time, I realized the difference between Chinese and Australian classes. Thinking and communication are considered more important than marks here.
During breaks, I walked around in the school. I saw some students having math class. They were still learning fraction which we have learnt in primary school! AT 3:30, we were waiting for the home parents to pick us. We were excited, curious as well as nervous just like the children’s in the orphanage waiting to be adopted.
Finally， they came. The mother told us she has 3 daughters and one son. She loves Asia culture especially Chinese culture. All in all, it’s a wonderful beginning.

The Queensland museum is operates four separate campuses, founded by the state government of Queensland. We saw many things we cannot see in china. Then we visited the art gallery beside the museum. The wonderful art works really impressed me deeply.
Unfortunately，it was rainy when we got to the sun beach. But in the sea, We picked up a dead jellyfish! In the afternoon, we had a wonderful time in the Warner Movie World. At night, we enjoyed the colorful firework. It was so wonderful that I couldn’t describe it in a word.
Every day is a special day, and today is no exception. We also have a rich day today in the home stay family. Not until 9am did we wake up. I considered this is the best day I have well rested. At the breakfast we ate toast and milk with ice, which are delicious. After the breakfast we went shopping at about 11:00.
We have met many interesting things while shopping. First, we just regarded a beautiful pair of trousers as a skirt. Second, realizing it’s too heavy to carry the milk powder to Melbourne, Sydney and back to China, we gave it up the idea to buy the milk powder. So we only got a bottle of milk in the food shop. When arriving home, Jolin and I opened the milk and tried some, which tastes really a little delicious but a little strange from the ordinary one.”Wow, my gosh! It’s the cream people used to make cake!....
What an unforgettable experience in Australia!
We set a campfire on the ground, and then sang and danced surrounding the fire. I remembered the shadows behind us were pretty beautiful. And the daughter Melisa of the famer played with us together. She sent us the cotton candy and then we roasted it surrounded by the fire. We roasted the cotton candy with branches. We all had a great time with the fire which likes a forest fire.
During the fire time, we read the letter from our mother; we all had a little present from our teacher. It was the first time I stayed with all of us but I still missed home. It was also the first time I wanted to go home and see my mother. With the beautiful sky, the first time I missed a lot of people.
The home I stayed in is made up of five members: parents and three sons-Niza, Nio, and Nathy. Their house is big and has a small garden. They believe in Muslim. Their eating habit seems like Chinese so we are accustomed to their food. After school, we played cricket, basketball, and football. We had fun with each other. At dinner we had curry chicken, beef, mutton and lasagna, pizza…

Amy is not only my English teacher but also my host family. In the morning she only prepared the breakfast for us but also lunch for her 2 daughters. We had black tea, milk, eggs and cornmeal as our breakfast, which are very abundant.
In the afternoon, we went to the Lane Pine Koalas Zoo. It’s quite different from China’s zoo. Here visitors can walk very close to the animals such as kangaroos, emu, and other kind of animals….
In my opinion, Melbourne is really a good place to live in. even if it’s a city in industrializing. This city has various cultures. I saw many people riding bikes to go to work on our way to the airport.
Arriving in Sydney, we went to Chinatown first where we could meet many things with Chinese tradition. Then we went to visit the famous opera house of Sydney. Its design is so wonderful that I could not find a word to express my feeling. I had to take as many pictures as I could to keep this feeling. Besides, we also visited the church of Catholicism, and university of Sydney, which impressed me much.
In a word, I really had a wonderful time in Sydney!
After visiting two famous universities, we all went to a beach. The seawater is clear and deep and the sand is so slimy and soft. The sky is always blue and the clouds look like spun sugar. During the lunch time, we went on a ship for Sydney Harbor Cruise. We had lunch enjoying the beautiful views of the whole Sydney, including Sydney Opera House. I also tried eating the fresh seafood, which tasted very nice. It was a new experience for me to eat raw seafood.
